  • ¼ cup unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • 1 large egg (room temperature)
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 3 ½ – 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons melted unsalted butter

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast by mixing warm milk and sugar in a bowl; sprinkle yeast on top and let sit until foamy (about 5 minutes).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the yeast mixture, butter, egg, salt, and 2 cups of flour; mix until smooth.
  3. Gradually add remaining flour until a soft dough forms; beat for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  4. Grease a bowl, place the dough inside, cover with a towel, and let it rise until doubled in size (45-60 minutes).
  5. Punch down dough gently, roll into a rectangle (12×8 inches), and cut into even pieces (24-30).
  6. Place rolls on baking sheets, cover with a towel, and let rise again (45-60 minutes).
  7. Preheat oven to 350°F; bake rolls for about 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Brush with melted butter before serving.
