  • ½ lb ground Italian sausage
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • Marinara sauce (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, Italian sausage, onion, garlic, bread crumbs, eggs, Parmesan cheese, and seasonings. Mix well.
  3. Shape into a rectangular loaf on a baking sheet and create a well for the filling.
  4. Stuff the well with mozzarella cheese and spinach if desired.
  5. Seal the loaf and top with marinara sauce and additional Parmesan cheese.
  6. Bake for 45-55 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
