  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup butter (softened)
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 large apples (finely chopped)
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp butter (for topping)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (for topping)
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon (for topping)
  • 2 Tbsp butter (for maple glaze)
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract (for glaze)
  • 1/8 tsp ground cinnamon (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 11×7 inch baking pan.
  2. In one bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream butter with both sugars until fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla.
  4. Gradually mix dry ingredients into the wet mixture and fold in apples and cinnamon.
  5. Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for about 25 minutes until golden brown.
  6. For the topping, melt butter with brown sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon; pour over blondies right after they come out of the oven.
  7. Prepare the maple glaze by melting butter with maple syrup and powdered sugar; drizzle over cooled blondies before slicing.
