  • 2- pounds top sirloin steak or flank steak
  • 14 ounces lo mein noodles
  • 1 large onion
  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • ¼ cup oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon slap ya mama seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • ¼ cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon ginger
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch + 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced into thin strips
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup matchstick carrots
  • 2 cups shredded cabbage
  • 1-2 cups snap peas
  • 8 ounce can water chestnuts, diced

Instructions

  1. Cook lo mein noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  2. In a wok, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add sliced beef seasoned with spices and broth; stir-fry until tender. Remove from wok.
  3. In the same wok, add more oil and cook onions, carrots, and red bell pepper until tender-crisp. Stir in garlic, broccoli, snap peas, cabbage, and water chestnuts; cook for another few minutes.
  4. Return the beef to the pan along with the cooked noodles.
  5. In a bowl, mix sauce ingredients (excluding cornstarch), simmer gently then combine cornstarch with water; stir into the sauce until thickened.
  6. Pour the sauce over all ingredients in the wok; toss well and cook for an additional 3–4 minutes before serving.
