  • 1/4 cup bread crumbs
  • ½ – 1 teaspoon white or black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoon minced or grated onion
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • ½ cup water
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 11 ½ cup sliced mushroom
  • 1 cup onion (thinly sliced)
  • 1 teaspoon minced thyme
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1/2 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon creole seasoning (adjust to taste)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, egg, bread crumbs, pepper, salt, minced onion, and garlic. Form into 4-6 patties.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, beef broth, and water; set aside.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and brown the patties on both sides for about 2 minutes each.
  4. Remove patties and sauté onions and mushrooms in the same skillet with butter until tender.
  5. Pour in the prepared gravy mixture and bring to a boil; return patties to the pan.
  6. Cover and simmer on low for 8-10 minutes until cooked through.
