  • 2½ teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1¾ teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • ¾ teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • pinch salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix softened butter, brown sugar, all-purpose flour, ground cinnamon, and salt for the swirl; set aside.
  3. In another bowl, beat cooled butter and granulated sugar until fluffy. Blend in vanilla extract, egg, and egg yolk.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, cornstarch, and salt. Gradually mix into wet ingredients until just combined.
  5. Fold in the cinnamon swirl mixture gently to create a marbled effect.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto prepared baking sheets about 2 inches apart. Bake for around 11 minutes or until edges are golden.
