  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 large apple, peeled, cored, and chopped into small pieces
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 3/4 cups confectioners’ sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons water

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and prepare an 8.5 x 4.5-inch loaf pan by greasing and flouring it.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt; set aside.
  3. Cream together butter and granulated sugar using an electric mixer until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time.
  4. Gradually mix in dry ingredients alternating with milk until just combined.
  5. In another bowl, toss chopped apples with light brown sugar and cinnamon.
  6. Layer half the batter in the loaf pan followed by half the apple mixture; swirl gently. Repeat.
  7. Bake for 45 to 55 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool for 15 minutes before removing from the pan; drizzle with glaze.
