  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/3 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 1/8 teaspoon cracked red pepper flakes
  • 2 (3 ounce) packages ramen noodles (seasoning packets discarded)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil (divided)
  • 1 pound sirloin steak (trimmed of fat and sliced into 1 1/2-inch strips)
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 3 cups fresh broccoli florets
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce and cornstarch; add beef broth, honey, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes. Set aside.
  2. Boil water in a medium pot; cook ramen noodles for 2–3 minutes. Drain and rinse with cold water.
  3. Heat olive oil in a nonstick skillet; season sirloin with salt and pepper and cook for about 5 minutes until browned. Remove from skillet.
  4. In the same skillet, sauté broccoli with water for 2 minutes until bright green.
  5. Return steak to the skillet along with ramen noodles; pour in the reserved sauce and mix everything together for another 2 minutes until heated through.
  6. Serve hot garnished with sesame seeds.
