  • 1 3/4 teaspoons baking powder

  • 2 large apples (peeled and chopped)

  2. In one bowl, whisk together brown sugar, cinnamon, flour, and baking powder.
  3. In another bowl, cream softened butter with granulated sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time followed by vanilla.
  4. Gradually combine dry ingredients with the wet mixture while alternating with milk.
  5. Fold in chopped apples gently.
  6. Pour half the batter into the prepared pan, sprinkle half the topping mixture over it, then add the remaining batter and topping.
